Performs routine and emergency Nuclear Medicine procedures. Responsible for mentoring and training students in a cooperative learning environment.
- Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures including IV injections of radiopharmaceuticals, use of spect camera and computers and processing of computer generated images.
- Keeps accurate records of receipt, disposal and administration of radioactive material.
- Performs required Quality Control procedures on camera and equipment and document results.
- Reviews images, documents completion of case, assembles images, requisition and file jacket for delivery to Radiologist.
Education:
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required
Additional Educational Requirements
Formal nuclear medicine technology training at an AMA approved school.
Work Experience:
Previous experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
State license / New Jersey Required
ARRT Certification Required or
CNMT certification Required
CPR or BLS Certification Required
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
Working Conditions:
Works in a normal hospital environment with exposure to infectious diseases and radiation. Must rigidly observe monitoring and safety procedures to avoid overexposure to radiation.

Additional physical requirements:
Assists patients from wheelchairs to imaging table. Loads/changes 20 lb collimators on camera. Holds small lead shielded syringe and vial containers approximately 2 to 5 lbs.
