Overview

The Development Assistant supports the mission of the Foundation through various administrative assignments to support the Vice President of Development and other Foundation staff as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Assistant for the vice president and department, responsible for ordering supplies, answering phones, receiving mail & packages and visitors. Completes, processes and files expense vouchers.
  • Interacts with CentraState staff, volunteers, donors, and the general public; responds to inquiries and provides information related to Foundation matters.
  • Schedules Foundation Board, committee and individual meetings and prepares all ancillary arrangements required, including posting material to board portal.
  • Accurately posts donor gifts through database software and/or processes deposits of all cash/check gifts received.
  • Processes donor acknowledgement letters within four business days of receipt of gift.
  • Coordinates submissions for internal communication updates to CentraState team members and boards of trustees.
  • Maintains community sponsorships budget and tracking sheet, completes A/P requests and creates sponsorship ads. Communicates with organization regarding ads, sponsorships, and attendees.
  • Maintains time keeping for the team.
  • Special and Cultivation event assistance as needed.
Qualifications

Education:

Associate Degree or equivalent training in general business and secretarial skills.

 

Work Experience:

7 Years of secretarial experience preferred

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm.

Shorthand or speed writing skills necessary in order to take minutes.

Extensive computer experience required including advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database management.

Strong writing ability to compose business correspondence and reports.

Knowledge of business math. Strong customer service skills.
